Shane Rose - Eventing

Shane Rose is a three time Olympic medallist from NSW, where he grew up riding with his siblings.

Joining Pony Club when he was 5 years-old and staying through to his ‘A’ certificate. Shane took part in everything, from mounted games to showjumping and eventing.

In 1994, when Shane was 21, he was selected to represent Australia in the Young Rider Trans Tasman competition riding Mr Joe Cool. The pair won both the NZ Young Rider One & Three Day championships and the overall team won the Young Rider Trans Tasman trophy for the first time in history.

In 1996 Shane was selected on the squad for the Atlanta Olympic Games and went to the States with Mr Joe Cool. Unfortunately his horse went lame just before the Olympic Games and he was unable to compete.

In 1998, Shane went to Rome and rode at his first World Equestrian Games as a member of the Australian team.

In 2006, Shane and All Luck competed at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany and later that year placed 3rd at the prestigious Burghley Horse Trial in the United Kingdom.

In 2008, Shane and All Luck were selected for the Beijing Olympic Games where they were members of the Silver medal winning team.

In 2015, Shane placed 1st and 2nd at the Australian Three Day Championships (Adelaide 5*).

At two appearances at the famous Aachen CCHIO in Germany Shane has placed 2nd and 3rd with CP Qualified.

Shane has gone on to win a further two Olympic medals - a Team Bronze medal at Rio 2016 Olympic Games with CP Qualified and another Team Silver at Tokyo 2020 riding Virgil. Shane has many National & International titles on many horses. Shane is now looking forward to the selection process for Paris Olympic Games in 2024.

Shane was awarded the Anna Savage medal five times, this is awarded to the best and fairest Australian Eventing rider and is judged by officials and peers.

Besides Shane’s illustrious Eventing career he is a very successful breaker & pre trainer of racehorses on his property Bimbadeen Park in Werombi, NSW.
