Some horses may require a
higher head-set to start the
race, but then perform better
at a lower setting as the race
gets underway and the horse
achieves its stride. The use
of an Automatic Headcheck is
perfect in these instances, as
it allows the driver to adjust
the headcheck whilst in
motion.
The stainless steel pulley is
screwed into the saddle (in
place of the McKinney Hook),
and the headcheck front is
attached to the dee on the end
of the chain.
The
straps are attached to the
vehicle via clips. The grey
strap is used to shorten the
headcheck and achieve a higher
head-set. The red strap is
used to release the chain and
lengthen the headcheck.
